The Escondido Humane Society (Escondido, California 92027) is full to the brim with dogs in need of good homes. To help these canines find their happy endings, EHS is reducing adoption fees for all adult dogs through the end of April.

During the adoption special, all adult dogs, like Carrie (pictured here), can be adopted for just $45. Adult dogs are 6 months and older, and the Escondido Humane Society has them in all sizes, colors, breeds, and ages. All dogs are microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered.

The Escondido Humane Society Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. Call (760) 888-2247 for more information.

Bess was adopted from New Rochelle Humane Society (New Rochelle, New York 10801) recently, but returned because she was not comfortable around the other pets in the household.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley (Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105) has found the face of the 2011 Arbor Research/HSHV Walk & Wag dog walk and family fun day, to be held on May 21, 2011. Marie, a one-and-a-half year old pit bull mix, is this year’s Celebrity Spokesdog.

Marie and her brother Donnie were found abandoned on the side of the road. It took some time for both dogs to develop social skills and trust people again, but they came around quickly, with Marie taking the lead.

Marie has plenty of smiles to share!

Prior to her adoption from HSHV, Marie was one of the first dogs to go through the shelter’s MI-Paws Dog Training Program, where she spent 10 weeks receiving 24-hour care and training from two of the inmates at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.
