From the Connecticut Humane Society (Newington, Connecticut 06111)

We are now conducting a perpetual brick fundraising initiative to benefit our new shelter. These engraved bricks will pave the walkway leading up to the front door of the new building. Be a lasting part of our future with a permanent testament to your support and generosity.

A donation of $100 will purchase one 4” x 8” brick with up to three lines (16 characters per line) of engraved script. Personalize your brick by commemorating friends, family members, pets, mentors, veterans, birthdays, anniversaries, and more. This is also a great opportunity to memorialize a cherished family member or pet who is no longer with us.

Fill out the online ORDER FORM or download the ORDER FORM to be mailed with your donation to:

From Simply Cats Adoption Center (Boise Idaho 83709)

The Meet Your Match & Feline-ality Adoption Program is a research-based program developed by the ASPCA that pairs distinct personalities (feline-alities) with adopters whose lifestyle fit them best.

Good matches help make strong bonds, and bonding is the key to successful adoptions.
Simply Cats is PROUD to announce that we are now utilizing the Meet Your Match program to pair adopters with their new feline friends. To our knowledge, we are the only adoption center in Idaho utilizing this program.

The research-based Feline-ality Adoption Program is built around the Feline-ality Assessment that   reliably predicts how an individual cat is likely to behave when the cat arrives at their new home. In addition, the Cat Adopter Survey identifies the aspects of the adopter’s preferences, expectations, and lifestyle that correlate with specific feline-alities.

All cats over 1 year old will be evaluated at our facility using the assessment developed by the ASPCA. Once evaluated, each cat’s profile will be posted in their respective adoption room. All adopters will be asked to complete the Adopter Survey in order to identify the appropriate cats for adoption consideration. (more…)

From Catskill Animal Sanctuary (Saugerties, New York 12477)

Two years ago, our supporters were very generous as we built three new barns: one for pigs and two for goats. This year, its the cows and horses’ turn. We’ve taken down a shelter that left no room to spare for growing populations, and are erecting in its place a 36×48 barn with a hayloft. The barn will have two spacious open areas (14×48 each) on each side, and the hayloft will enable us to double the amount of hay we can store.

A generous gift by June and Eric Bleich has enabled construction to begin, and their friends and family also generously pitched in to honor both the couples’ anniversary and June’s birthday. If you can help us finish the barn, click here to watch a video and donate now.

In loving memory of his German Shepherd, The Great KaDee, David DiNicola is heading across the country on his Harley to raise money for Catskill Animal Sanctuary (Saugerties, New York 12477). David will cruise from Massachusetts to California from August 13-22, 400 miles a day, for a total of 4300 miles!

To read the whole story, to stay in touch with Strong in Spirit updates, or to donate to the ride, please go to the Strong in Spirit web site.

In addition to David’s project, a portion of the sales from the FOOLSGOLD SANCTUARY art auction at One Mile Gallery in Kingston, NY on July 23, 2011, and the Home on the Range CD will go to CAS. Anyone can be an Animal Ambassador, so run your ideas by Michelle Alvarez, Director of Outreach and Communications.
