Join the Seal Beach Animal Care Center (Seal Beach, California 90740) for an exciting night at the Los Alamitos Race Course to benefit the shelter.

When: Thursday, July 7, 2011, beginning at 6:15 pm

Where: Los Alamitos Race Course,  4961 Katella Avenue, Cypress, California

Tickets: $5.00 for adults, and include Grandstand or Clubhouse access. Children 17 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased from Seal Beach Music or Up, Up & Away Kites on Main Street Seal Beach, or from a Care Center volunteer. Tickets are also on sale at the Care Center, 1700 Adolfo Lopez Drive, Seal Beach. For more information about the Seal Beach Animal Care Center, please call 562-430-4993.

The first Wienerschnitzel Wiener National race is set for 6:15 p.m. with the live horse-racing program set to begin at 7:00 p.m. The Wiener Nationals Championship race will be held at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The Wiener Nationals features all the excitement of a Quarter Horse race, with a total of 98 dachshunds strutting their stuff in front of a packed house at Los Alamitos. A total of 12 trial heats will be contested at 50 yards with the winning wieners advancing to the championship race. The participants were selected based on the creativity of their entries.

  • Meow Market – more than 25 vendors selling food and cat-related merchandise
  • FREE activities for the kids, including games, crafts, face painting, a magician, balloon animals, and a bouncy house!
  • FREE cat-related behavior and veterinary advice
  • FREE goodie bags for the first 500 cat lovers that include cat-related products

Also, KOSI 101.1 will be on-site from 10 am to noon, and Radio Disney will be at the event from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Admission is free… cats are priceless!
