Be an Animal Hero this Holiday Season: Make a Difference in the Life of a Homeless Pet

In order for FOHA to continue to help homeless pets, such as those in the video slideshows above, we need your help. Friends of Homeless Animals depends 100% on the generosity of supporters.

Your tax-deductible donations allow staff and volunteers to save and care for hundreds of dogs and cats in need each year. Roswell and Sundae are two homeless pets, taken in by FOHA, who are now living happily ever after. Read their success stories here, and check out Roswell’s Dog Park Video below. Thanks to your donations and a wonderful forever home, he has come a long way from the dog on youtube coughing every 15 to 30 seconds.

From the Catskill Animal Sanctuary (Saugerties, New York 12477)

Have you heard the news? CAS now has a second farm! Just five minutes down the road, the new farm consists of 32 acres, three barns, and a house. The possibilities are limitless, but the most pressing one is to help more animals.

This second farm means saying YES to needy animals…saying, “Yes, we can rid you of hunger, fear, and pain. Yes, we’ll show you what love feels like!” But we need your help to help them: we must clear fields, fence pastures, build run-ins, and restore three tired old barns. There’s so much to be done! Click here to join us on a tour to see what we mean.

We receive calls every day about animals in desperate need – animals we have to turn away because our current farm is at maximum capacity. Help us prepare this new property for rescues!

As if this weren’t news enough, there’s even more. Your holiday donations (through January 31st) will be doubled dollar-for-dollar up to $300,000 by a generous supporter! That means that $25 does the work of $50, $100 does the work of $200! What amount do you want doubled to help animals in need?

We need to get to work now. There are so many animals on our waiting list, but our current property is full. Help us give them a loving home before the coldest months of the year are upon us and help us take advantage of this exciting gift-matching offer before time runs out!

From the Atlanta Humane Society (Atlanta, Georgia 30318)

Take a moment to think of a special pet that touched your life…

Perhaps a cat that would purr contentedly for hours.

Or a dog that loved you unconditionally.

Any animal that touched your heart and forever changed your life.

Sadly, many dogs and cats don’t have a family who loves them – or even shelter or food. These are the animals we care for every day at the Atlanta Humane Society. And they need your help.

I hope you will look into your heart and make a special year-end gift. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a gift in honor of a pet – past or present – that has enriched your life.

Please be as generous as you can this holiday season with your year-end, tax-deductible gift. Thank you!

From the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (Birmingham, Alabama 35209)

The holiday season is upon us! 2011 was, without a doubt, a year of challenges. Just as it seemed like our region was coming out of the worst economic crisis in recent history, we were devastated by the tornadoes of April 27th. Thank you to everyone who volunteered your time, money, supplies, and compassion to help us care for the pets who suffered as a result of this tragedy.

We can’t thank those who assisted our efforts following these tragic events enough, but the truth is: we still need your help to operate on a daily basis. Our commitment to the homeless animals of the Greater Birmingham areas comes at a cost. To ensure that each animal is healthy, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered is a costly endeavor. This holiday season, you can be the reason that we are able to fulfill our commitment to these pets. These pets, who are truly unwanted when they come to us, will have a second chance at life thanks to YOU. Please consider making a holiday donation to the GBHS and give the gift of life!

From the Rutland County Humane Society (Pittsford, Vermont 05763)

Throughout our lives, people and animals often become important to us and make a great impact. There are many ways to remember or honor these special individuals.

One way is to make a donation in their name to Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS). For animal lovers, a terrific holiday or birthday gift might be a donation to RCHS. A donation is a great way to remember a favorite pet or family member who meant a lot to you. Joyous occasions, such as birthdays and weddings, are other reasons to donate. When someone asks you what you want as a gift, suggest a donation to RCHS!

So, the next time you’re thinking about the “purrfect” gift for a loved one, please remember the homeless animals at RCHS. Your donation can really make a difference!

If you have any questions about donating to RCHS please call us at (802) 483.9171 or visit our web site.
